Stephen Andrew’s mission in life is to help people who are struggling with a chronic illness like alcoholism. He goes about it in many different ways, but at the core of every one of his endeavors is compassion. In this podcast, Stephen, who is a licensed clinical social worker, explains how we can and why we should try to have compassionate conversations — even in the worst of situations.

Thank you for giving us this interview with Stephen Andrew Diane. As a former manager of a department that included RN and Social Worker care managers, we sent them as part of their orientation to one of his course on Motivational Interviewing as they were almost always interacting with people with huge challenges, including few or fewer resources and chronic mental and/or physical illness. I love the Compassionate Conversations work, it should be essential for staff of all healthcare and social welfare organizations of any kind, as well as the general public! Ideal world I guess. So glad to hear this work is growing!
Thank you for your comment, Elaine, and for the work that you and your colleagues do. So important!
